Bare Hill Pond committee approves ARC monitoring, readies frog counts

HARVARD — Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee approves ARC water monitoring and frog census expansion. Chair Bruce Leicher reported $4,900 remains in the fiscal-year budget, with the ARC spring monitoring contract at $4,500. Rainer assumed leadership of the frog count program with training planned in two to three weeks, aiming to recruit community volunteers through Nextdoor.
The committee unanimously approved all three ARC monitoring proposals and agreed to shift downstream phosphorus collection to every other year based on last year's data. Ben Baron announced his resignation effective June 2026 but indicated continued participation in meetings.
