HARVARD — Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee reviewed water quality data and deferred major decisions pending a final report. Treasurer Peter Vonloesecke reported a $520 allocation from reserves for National Grid bills with a remaining deficit from monitoring work, and the committee approved July meeting minutes while deferring a grant discussion. The committee instead secured funding for expert Wendy Gendron to visit in the fall and agreed to await a final annual report by late August or September before making recommendations to the Conservation Commission meeting September 24.
Phosphorus levels have reached 17 micrograms per liter, below the 20 micrograms standard for undeveloped lakes, with current low water levels attributed to spring drought rather than the mechanical drawdown project.
