Conservation Commission approves snowmobile club land agreement and wetland waivers

Harvard Conservation Commission approves Ayer Road residential development waivers. Chair Jim Burns and five members unanimously granted four waivers for the 320 Ayer Road multi-building project, including a controversial modification allowing wetland replication after construction begins rather than before. Conservation Agent Liz Allard supported the timing waiver after consulting with wetland scientist Richard Kirby regarding optimal conditions for plant establishment.
The Commission also unanimously approved an amended Memorandum of Understanding with the Harvard Snowmobile Club adding Stone Land on Old Mill Road, and voted to allow the wetland replication bond at 203 Ayer Road to lapse following two successful growing seasons.
