Finance Committee · Meeting of July 13, 2026

Harvard Finance Committee unanimously approved $401,230 in year-end budget transfers addressing staffing shortages and departmental overruns across town accounts. Chair Sara Fanning moved the measure, seconded by Charles Oliver, with all five present members voting in favor. Finance Director Jared Mullane explained that transfers drew from six surplus accounts including Highway Wages ($230,535) and Police Wages ($94,000) to cover overages in departments ranging from Legal ($59,281) to Water ($67,929), much of which reflected PFAS-related bottled water delivery and three major water main breaks requiring emergency repairs.
