Harvard Conservation Commission OKs conservation restriction purchase, approves invasive species partnership

Harvard Conservation Commission advances three wetland projects in January hearing. The commission unanimously allocated $450,000 from Community Preservation Act funds to purchase a conservation restriction on 87 Ayer Road through the Harvard Conservation Trust, shifting from the original plan to serve as grantee rather than titleholder following state grant requirements. The board voted 3-1 to accept the SuAsCo Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area Memorandum of Understanding, with Conservation Agent Liz Allard noting that participation offers access to regional grant funding and expertise despite some member concerns about workload.
Three Notice of Intent hearings on projects at Harvard Park, the Fire Department site on Stow Road, and 320 Ayer Road were continued to February for further development and peer review completion.
