School Committee · Meeting of September 14, 2026

Harvard School Committee approved a Peru field trip on second vote after initially deadlocking 2-2 with one abstention. The trip, presented by English Department Head Ms. Hyde, costs $4,900 per student and targets juniors and seniors.

On reconsideration, the committee voted 3-2 in favor after members raised concerns about the December payment deadline and potential barriers for lower-income families. Superintendent Dana Labb's one-year district improvement bridge plan, which targets a 60 percentile growth score on MCAS and aims to reduce chronic absences to 10 percent or less, passed unanimously. The district received a $20,500 Cell Phone Grant from the Attorney General's Office and unanimously approved four policy changes.
