Harvard's Select Board advanced a $9 million landfill-capping project by approving two consultant contracts totaling $122,050. DPW Director Eric Ryder outlined a plan to relocate the Transfer Station and DPW facility, noting that careful capping design could spare playing fields and provide 1.4 acres of new usable space. Six residents raised concerns about potential loss of recreation land and inadequate notification.
Town Administrator Dawn Dunbar was directed to research deed restrictions on Depot Road fields and authorized up to $1,000 to re-delineate wetlands on an alternative site. All votes were unanimous. The board also opened the October 20 town meeting warrant and granted five one-day liquor licenses to Loyal Foe Brewing.
