HARVARD — The Harvard Open Space Committee unanimously approved changes to its Chapter 61 land-removal procedures, incorporating an AI-assisted compliance review against state law. Chair Jim Lee of the Harvard Conservation Trust oversaw the adoption of a compressed timeline proposed by Conservation Commission member Peter Dorward to ensure completion within the 120-day statutory window. A revised document will be formally approved at the July 8 meeting.
The committee retained its current prioritization metrics for an updated top 25 parcel protection list and agreed on revisions to its charter language, also slated for July approval. Lee announced his resignation at the end of his appointment year.
