Harvard's Open Space Committee elected two new officers and began revising its mission statement.

Open Space Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Harvard's Open Space Committee elected two new officers and began revising its mission statement. Eve Wittenberg, a Select Board member, was elected chair, and Anne McWaters from Parks and Recreation was elected vice chair, both in unanimous votes; Jim Lee, representing the Harvard Conservation Trust, abstained pending his reappointment. The committee discussed overlaps between its work and that of the Conservation Commission, Parks and Recreation, School Committee, and other town entities.

The group agreed to assign implementation oversight roles to committee members and will hold monthly meetings to oversee the Open Space and Recreation Plan.
