Select Board · Meeting of June 2, 2026

Harvard Select Board unanimously approves $1 million Municipal Affordable Housing Trust investment in Emerson Green rental apartments. The buy-down secures 12 affordable units and credits all 46 rental apartments to the town's Subsidized Housing Inventory, bringing Harvard to approximately 48 percent of its remaining affordable-housing shortfall and providing two years of safe harbor from Massachusetts Comprehensive Permit applications. In related votes, the board also unanimously approved a conservation restriction for the 27.77-acre Farwell Quarry at 87 Ayer Road, purchased by the Harvard Conservation Trust for $1.35 million with state grant support, and appointed public health professional Sarah Birse to the Board of Health.
