Harvard Select Board approves transfer station fee hikes and votes down Town Center Overlay District. The board unanimously backed DPW Director Eric Ryder's recommendation to raise non-senior sticker prices by $10 and increase bag pricing to $2 for 15-gallon bags and $4 for 30-gallon bags, effective July 1, citing a $100,000 transfer station deficit. Planning Board Chair John McCormack presented Article 28 proposing smaller lot sizes, reduced setbacks, and mixed-use permits in the Town Center Overlay District; the board voted 4-1 to reject it, with members citing concerns about insufficient public understanding and insufficient time for review.
The board also unanimously approved a rodenticide ban on town-owned properties, appointed Patty Ruze to the Addiction Abatement Fund Working Group, and greenlit the Wachusett Fire Muster for August 30 and a Girl Scout pollinator garden at the Hildreth House.
