HARVARD — Tree Warden approves removal of three public shade trees at Harvard property. JC Ferguson, Tree Warden, approved removal of a 12-inch pine, 24-inch maple, and 12-inch ash at 87 Ayer Road following a public hearing under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87. No written objections were received before the June 1 deadline.
As a condition of removal, the property owner must plant two replacement red maple or native-to-Harvard trees by June 1, 2027, maintain mulch rings around them, and provide water and care for three years, with replacement required if any tree dies or declines significantly within that period.
