Water & Sewer Commissions · Meeting of August 26, 2026

Harvard Water & Sewer Commission unanimously approved a sewer connection permit for 11 Mass Avenue and discussed initiating the Town's first formal water rate study in response to anticipated cost increases from the transition to Devens water supply. Devens' current rates significantly exceed those under the Town's original agreement. The Commission will request a proposal from Woodard & Curran for both the rate study and an update to the Water and Sewer Rules and Regulations; Town Administrator Dawn Dunbar noted information must be provided by September 15 for inclusion in the Special Town Meeting warrant.

The Commission separately discussed outdoor water restrictions and received updates on the ongoing PFAS investigation, with a Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection meeting anticipated in September.
